The most exciting news in glassware this fall, Orrefors x Björn Frantzén, was launched during an exclusive event at Frantzén in central Stockholm one afternoon in September. Restaurant Frantzén is the first, and still the only, restaurant in Sweden to have three stars in Guide Michelin.
The guest list consisted of Swedish and international journalists, representatives from the hotel and restaurant industry as well as Swedish social media creators that specialize on food and beverage. After being served a glass of champagne, chef Björn Frantzén welcomed everyone, and then Orrefors Creative Director, David Carlson, and Frantzén's head sommelier, André Bekker, presented the collaboration and the glass collection.
Orrefors x Björn Frantzén consists of six glasses. It is developed in close collaboration between Orrefors and the sommeliers who work together with Björn Frantzén. All glasses share the well-balanced and timeless Orrefors’ design, where the height of the glasses and the length of the legs have been completely adjusted to create a distinct symmetry in the collection. The glasses are used in Björn Frantzén's restaurants around the world and are available for end consumers.
The afternoon continued, and the guests were welcomed to Frantzén's top floor via the iconic elevator playing loud music. The guests tasted each glass in the series with a suitable beverage, carefully selected by Frantzén's team of exceptionally skilled sommeliers. Canapés prepared by Frantzén's world-class chefs were also served.
When the afternoon became evening, the celebration of Orrefors x Björn Frantzén was rounded off. The guests left the restaurant with a gift, the Red Wine glasses from the collection, and a smile on their face.
