Pia Törnell (born 1963) studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm with focus on glass and ceramics, and also completed the art track at Birkagårdens Folkhögskola. She is currently active as a ceramicist, designer and artist, and she runs her own ceramics studio.
Her work has been shown in a number of solo and group exhibitions, primarily in Europe, but also in Japan and the US. Törnell has received several prizes, including Excellent Swedish Design, EDIDA Sweden in Elle Interiör, and Design Plus Award, International Frankfurt Trade Fair Ambiente. Pia Törnell has designed the collection Share for Orrefors.
